Many building owners and organisations who manage buildings do not necessarily realise the importance of good accessibility. Providing good access for people with disabilities also provides benefits for all and there are now some commercial organisations emerging that see this as a strategic advantage for their business, and not just as a requirement to comply with legislation.

John Darvill acts as a consultant for such major clients and is currently working with Government departments, developers, leading architectural practices and major banking and retail corporations. His involvement is through his long association with David Bonnett Associates, arguably the leading specialist access research and design consultancy in the UK.

We are therefore able to provide expert advice and consultation services for disabled access and the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 to the building industry. John Darvill, in conjunction with Professor Dr David Bonnett, also assists clients such as museums and other public building owners to prepare an access report when applying for funding either via the Arts Council or for Heritage Lottery bids. He has also collaborated with Professor Bonnett on several publications as the illustrator.
